Cruising on the Marne-Rhine Canal you will experience one of the highest locks in France, (16,38m) at Réchicourt. This example of modern canal engineering was completed in 1969 to replace 17 locks. Below the lift, the Marne-Rhine travels nearly three kilometres underground through the Arzviller and Niderviller tunnels. The inclined plane lifts boats 150 feet (45 meters) in just 20 minutes.

This is a charming destination cruising through the rolling plains of the Lorraine region. A visit to the Parroy Lake places you in the heart of nature.
